در ارتباط با نمادهای geometric یا هندسی صرف ، ورود نمادهای حیوانی ، انسانی ، گیاهی و کتابتی جایی ندارند و نمادها در طرح‌های ظرفیتی مثلث ، مربع و دایره و فروع آن خلاصه می‌شوند. در فاصله بین پیکتوگرام ها و ژئومتریک‌ها ، طرح نوین سه‌بعدی دیگری نمایان شده است که زائیده تکنولوژی است و آن اصطلاح فرنگی وارداتی دیگری است به نام " mascot " (نشانه‌های سه‌بعدی ارزشی). در واقع نوعی نشانه سه‌بعدی که وظیفه‌اش شخصیت‌پردازی است و در آن موضوعات انسان و حیوان به صورت سمبلیک مطرح می‌شود. در تلفیق نمادها و نشانه‌ها، اصطلاح دیگری بنام logo mixete وجود دارد که می‌تواند نمادها و نشانه‌ها را در تکامل یکدیگر نشان دهد و عبارت mascot یا mascot logo و یا cartoon logo با ویژگی‌های قراردادی ، بادکنکی ، آبی ، انسانی ، حیوانی و موضوعی ، واژه‌هایی نیستند که به راحتی بتوان از آنها استفاده نمو د، بلکه حیطه عملکرد و رویکردهای هر کدام تعیین‌کننده نوع خدمات ، فعالیت و در یک کلام هویت عملکردی آن است.

ویکیپدیا در تعریف شُگون‌نَما میگوید: Mascot جسم یا عروسکی است که در فرهنگ اروپایی و برخی فرهنگ‌های دیگر به عنوان نظرقربانی و برای دور داشتن بدشانسی به کار می‌رود و امروزه بیشتر شاهد استفاده از آن در رویدادهای بزرگ ورزشی مثل بازی‌های المپیک و جام جهانی و سایر رقابت‌های بین المللی هستیم.
